Library
Learning Commons Club
We
are starting a new student club in our Library Learning Commons. If your
son or daughter has an interest in learning more about how a Learning Commons
functions and participating in brainstorming ideas, providing student voice and
completing some easy tasks, we would love to have
them! Organizational meetings will be Tuesdays at lunch (12:35) in
the learning commons. See Mrs. Hansen for more information.
Lates and Late Club – Mr.
Siakaluk
Students
arriving late to school continues to be a concern at Elboya and now that the
weather has turned, lates can become more common. Developing the habit of being
on time is extremely important and critical for the workforce. On Monday,
administration will implement a late club for students who are late. Students
in grades 5-9 who arrive late need to stay after school for 30 minutes to make up
for missed time.
If
your child is late to school and is in Grades K-4, they report directly to Ms.
Jones who will record their name. If your child is in Grades 5-9 then they need
to sign in the late book. We ask all parents to say their goodbyes outside the
school or in the office. Parents are asked not to accompany their students to
their classroom as this can be very disruptive to classes.
Parents of 5C1 and 5C2 Students
As
you know, your child has been working hard to complete a dual language cooking
project for English and French Language arts. They have now
finished and are eagerly anticipating sharing their projects with each other
and you. We would like to invite you to view the completed assignments
during the morning of Monday, November 17th. The presentations will take
place during periods 2, 3 and 4 (9:50 AM - 12:16 PM) in the Elboya school
library. We are unable to give a specific performance order or time that your
child’s group will be presenting and invite you to watch all of the children’s
cooking shows.
Parking
is available on the North, East or South side of the school. As a courtesy to
our neighbours and staff, we would ask you kindly not to park in front of the
school, in the teacher’s parking lot, or in front of the houses in our
neighbourhood. Please sign in at the office before coming to the library.
We,
and the students, look forward to having you join us.
Sincerely, Mme. Brittain Ms. McBean
