Dear Parents,
The first March Math Madness event took place today and was an outstanding success. 105 teams of students from grades 1-9 participated. The challenge—build the tallest structure from marshmallows, spagetti and other ingredients. The winning structure was 61 cms tall and the winning team were grade 9 students. Second place went to a grade 6 team and third place to a grade 8 team. Congratulations to all of the 400 students who participated! Many thanks to those who organized the events—Mme. Facchina, Ms Saddler and Mr. Leblanc as well as students who photographed the teams—Freya Innes and Davis Johnson.
Next week, wear green on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th. House points are awarded for every participating student.

Dear Parents,
Patrols
– Ms. Sawchuk
Thank you to all the parents who have taken special care
and attention to our new patrol crossing.
It is a very busy pattern and these young students have taken very good
care in learning the new procedures.
They are conscious of the needs to balance both traffic flow and
pedestrian crossings. We thank you for
your patience and we manage this very busy roadway. We would also like to remind all parents,
guardians, and students that regardless of age, that we request you cross with
the school patrol at this busy intersection for the safety of all students.

Ms. Sawchuk
We had 24 eager grade
6 students participate in the Math League Sixth Grade math contest on February

an easier level of difficulty moving towards quite challenging! We would
like to congratulate our top 5 scorers: Tara, Maia, Esa, Thomas, and
Ruby. Way to go! All students participating should also be
commended on attempting this challenge. I hope to see as many
participants again next year.
