 Dear Parents,
Patrols – Ms. Sawchuk
Thank you to all the parents who have taken special care and attention to our new patrol crossing.  It is a very busy pattern and these young students have taken very good care in learning the new procedures.  They are conscious of the needs to balance both traffic flow and pedestrian crossings.  We thank you for your patience and we manage this very busy roadway.  We would also like to remind all parents, guardians, and students that regardless of age, that we request you cross with the school patrol at this busy intersection for the safety of all students.

Western Canada High School Registration – D. Siakaluk
On Monday, March 2 a counselor from Western Canada came to assist Grade 9 students with registration for High School. All information was provided to the students that day.  Any questions can be directed to Mr. Derek Siakaluk, Assistant Principal.

Jump Rope for Heart - M. Lewis
On behalf of the Heart and Stroke foundation, as well as Mme Lewis’ homeroom class, I would like to thank everyone who participated in our Jump Rope for Heart Fundraiser.
This year, about 75 grade one to six students at Elboya participated in our fundraising activities. We are currently waiting to receive the grand total from the Heart and Stroke Foundation! The students worked hard to collect money from friends, family members and the community, while they raised awareness of the importance of keeping a healthy heart lifestyle.
Yesterday, Thursday, March 5th, the grade one to six students participated in a special Physical Education class dedicated to JUMP activities where they practiced their jump rope skills and represented their sponsors.
I would again like to thank everyone who was involved in this campaign, especially the students, parents and teachers who helped to support this great cause in an effort to raise funds and awareness for healthy heart activities!

Math League Sixth grade math contest – Ms. Sawchuk

We had 24 eager grade 6 students participate in the Math League Sixth Grade math contest on February 24.  This was a timed math contest with 30 questions.  They started with an easier level of difficulty moving towards quite challenging!  We would like to congratulate our top 5 scorers:  Tara, Maia, Esa, Thomas, and Ruby.  Way to go!  All students participating should also be commended on attempting this challenge.  I hope to see as many participants again next year.
